Owner and Lead Doctor of Physical Therapy

Matthew Audia PT, DPT, CMP

It all began with an ideal. For me, it was the ideal to help people achieve better recovery under my care than anywhere else in the world. Today I find myself operating the premier neurological physical therapy clinic in the heart of North County San Diego and living the mission of a life filled with the achievements of those in my care. I am so passionate about the craft of physical therapy that I have invested over 1,500 hours of continuing education over the course of my 18 year career. I have worked in every setting of rehab: ICU, acute care, PCU, TCU, long-term acute care, acute rehab, skilled nursing facilities, home health, outpatient orthopedics, and outpatient neurology. If there is one thing my experience has taught me, it is that every person’s care requires a unique approach and the utmost level of skill.

Some people like their careers but I can honestly say I love physical therapy because I love joining people in pursuit of their best outcomes. I want every person to reach their highest goals in therapy and have the best experience possible while doing it. I have specialized in working with patients suffering from a stroke or traumatic brain injury since the very beginning of my career but it’s not all I can do. Recovery from something as complex as a severe stroke requires the highest level of understanding and skill from a therapist in many areas of expertise. Shoulder pain can be prevalent, there can be complicating medical factors, seating and orthotic bracing may be indicated, and we have to be able to motivate each individual to achieve desired change. Each person’s aspiration for progress fuels my passion for continued excellence and drives me to be a better therapist every day.

The physical and mental demand of this calling is clear and something I take very seriously. The people under my care deserve the very best level of care every day and I strive to make sure I am prepared to deliver it. I have, and always will be, committed to every person’s ideal quality of movement. Striving for normalized movement means minimizing the awkward compensations that can cause future pain, arthritis, and limit a person’s ultimate progress. I invite you to experience physical therapy re-imagined to be completely about you and your goal of achieving your ideal level of movement.
